LEARN ENGLISH WITH SONGS!
As a rationale:
Songs play a valuable role in teaching and learning English by making language acquisition more engaging, memorable, and enjoyable. Through rhythm, melody, and repetition, songs help learners improve their listening skills, pronunciation, and vocabulary in a natural and fun way. They also expose students to authentic language, including colloquial expressions and cultural references, which enhances both their linguistic and cultural understanding. Using songs in the classroom creates a relaxed atmosphere that can boost motivation and encourage participation, especially among young or shy learners.
The implementation of the activity:
We conducted two events about the importance of songs in learning and teaching English! First, our students did a gap-filling activity with the lyrics of famous English songs!
Second, they had a karaoke event with various songs!
They formed and graded one another with different criteria!
These activities helped our students improve their listening and speaking activities as well as vocabulary knowledge about different topics!
Our students loved this activity and we highly recommend English learners and teachers to get involve such activities into their own practices.
